conventions of a genre (Shrooms).

Camera shots/angles:
The opening of the film shows a low angled shot mid showing a young "teenage" girl running through the forest at night, it then cuts to show a buliding and back to her running. This gives the audience a cold shiver as they start to feel cold and feel invoved in the film.It also shows a close up of a man in a "Hay Bag" this shows that there is something creepy going on and how this would intercount with the film, the first proper opening scence after all the credits have rolled, they are on a flight and the first thing you see is the seat belt scene, this could suggest that to the audience aswell they should sit back and fasten as this film could be a jumpy one.

Editing:
The opening of this film as a lot of cross cuttings, to show the whole package in which it is set and how when and were its set, so the audience get a real feel in how the character is feeling, this is called naturlisation, making the audience think that what they are watching is all real when infact fake, this is also done by match on action in which is used when she looks down at her photo gallery book to they cutting to a picture of her and her boyfriend, the 180 degree is used when they are talking baout why she is coming over to see her boyfriend and that they are talking about taking shrooms, this reniforces the name of the title.

Sound:
there is a lot of non-diagetic sound in the openining of the film to suggest frightened and scared atmosphere. also there is a voice over when she is running there is heavy breathing to suggest she has been running for a long period of time.

Mise-en-scene:
it is set in a forest and a aeroplane. it shows that there is many different sets of thefilm within a short amount of time to suggest that this film is queit a in depth one, also when they are on the plane is also could suggest a journey you are taking with them to were they are going, by doing this it is drawing in the audience and wanting them to watch more.

in conclusion
very good opening showed a lot of different ideas in which i have not come across before with camera angles and sound throughout the first opening of the film

My analysis of Scream (Conventions of a Genre) another idea for my thriller.

Camera shots/angles:
The Opening sequence starts with a close up of the womens face when the phone rings, to show her first facial expression. There are also a few shots where there are a few extreme close ups of the actors eye and face when the phones begins to ring everytime she put the phone down, from the way the camera is angled makes me feel anxious but excited to see how she is fearing the worst in which she has just found out that her husband is strapped to a chair outside. Also the angle of the camera is canted (tilted) so it creates a eerie atmosphere is which makes you think something is going to happen.

Editing:
They use soundtrack editing as they are coming into the first scence and is then suddenly cut as the phone rings this changes the atmosphere and gets the audience thinking who is on the other end of the phone. They also use continuity editing through when she is walking out to the pateo also they use match on action when she looks through the glass to see once again her husband sitting on a chair, this changes the outlook on the audience as they become impatient to no what will happen next and shall she"play that game" which the man"sream" wants her to play.

Sound:
When the title of "Scream" appears the non-diagetic sound changes to a women screaming and it almost sounds like she is getting a killed. This makes the mood of the opening sequence become sicking and eerie to the audience. The 3rd time she put down the phone there was a sudden jolt of music when it rung again this makes the audidence feel scared and nervous in which she is getting herself in to a dead end with the person who is on the other end of the phone.

Mise-en-scene:
the setting is in a house. which has many different rooms this shows that it give sa sense of a maze. when the man does get into her house she has many places to run. the use of props is very effective as for example chairs and tables and utensils, she could use they to stay away from the man. i am getting all of these ideas from the opening sequence of the film, so would many other members of the gernal audience.

Conclusion:
The opening sequence of this horror "Scream" I can see that its quiet a jumpy film which would have the audience thinking what is going happen next.

Analysis of Fast and Furious

In Fast and The Furious it shows a good understanding of cinematography and camera angles for the first 3 mintues it already intracts with the audience and catches the audiences eyes as the cars comes into the shot. this is also shown in speed racer as at the start it is leading up to how he is feeling about the race and how he going to win. you can see by his facial expressions that he is sacred but still has the same feeling as the people in the fats and the furious as they get adrellian rushes from driving a fast car in a race.
they both show a range of different shot types for example the fast and the furious show a number of close up shots and long angled shots to show ere the set is and how its created with the cars and how the atmosphere changes, this also happens in speed racer as when he is in the car and it is a close up shot of him holding the stearing wheel also a long shots are used again to show the set and were it is and how they use the lighting to emphahise the car.

WWW: Overall we had a very creative story line which allowed us to use many different shot types for example following the character running with an over the shoulder shot. This allows the audience to view which character it is and where they're running to. Further on we used a good eye line shot when the girl gets inside and sees her mum. The audience get a close up of the girls face looking past the camera then a mid shot of her mum to show what she is looking at and what has caused her shocked facial expression. We also used shot reverse shot in the conversation between the mother and daughter. Our mis en scene was also well thought out of how the shot was constructed and where things were i the shot. Furthermore we used match on action, and most of the continuity rules. Finally we had good flare and innovation within our task which shows we used our imaginations to create what was required.

EBI: Some of our shots were unstable therefore we'll need to ensure our camera is attached securely to the tripod in the future. We could have also experimented with a few more shots, using the 180 degree rule to improve our continuity and increased the time length of our task. Finally we could have used a master shot to allow the audience to view the entire setting and characters placements, before using more detailed shots.
