The Preliminary Task

In todays lesson we were split into groups of three and had to film a short movie on “Continuity Editing”. In the film we had to show someone walking through the door, showing the back of them then entering the door from then the front, this meant using the 180 rule and keeping the angle of the camera the same. We then had to film someone sitting down and talking another person and show across the shoulder shots and making sure we use dialogue in the scenes.
-Firstly we done a story board to show how we was going to set the camera up and sort out the dialogue
-We went to the place were we were filming and sorted out the camera angles before we started filming to see how It would work out
- When filming we were constantly looking for ways to improver our work, and tried new angled shots and compared them after
When we had finished filming we went back to the classroom and started to edit what we had filmed, it was to edit at first as we did a long sequence shot and had to be cut to make it flow, we used continuity editing in the film were Charlotte runs to the door and gets her keys out to open the door as she is very late home from a night out and her mum is waiting for her.
I found this task interactive and fun, we all put ideas in and fortunately they all worked together, also we used match on action and shot reverse shot in our film as this would make it look more professional.

Push A Little Button

This was the first inturpretation we had ever done, it was hard to get comfortable with using the equipment and get set up, for example figuring out were we would push buttons and how to work the camcorder, lso the angles of the camera we would use to make it effective, we also had to think about how many shots we were taking so it follwed well with the music.

what we could have done better, is to plan how we were going to use our time wisley and create a good peice to show to the class.

i did enjoy this activity but it was my least favorite as you could not really get a feel for how the audience would feel as it was quiet a rushed task.

Induction Task

Donnie Darko

I learned how to import an tape onto imovie, i used close up and different angled shots to shot it, myself i played the role of the teacher, this came in handy as i do drama in A level so my confidence part was nothing to worry about. I learnt what i had to say and act as if i was playing the real part of the teacher in donnie darko, i used the same pausing effect to give the same effect on the audience and tried the same facial expressions but did my own inturpretations of them so i was making it my own.

What also went well was that my group we organised and was quick and easy to set up the equiment and get started. I thoughly enjoyed this task :).
